'Blood of China' Camellia produces beautiful semi-double red blooms with yellow stamens, starting in April.  The glossy evergreen leaves are displayed on a compact plant with an upright habit.  Although Camellia 'Blood of China' is often listed as a zone 7 plant, we have had no trouble growing it in our yard in zone 6.  Protection from wind and afternoon sun is essential.
